The Marmon Grand Banquet Hall is the fulfillment of a dream by Mrs. Janet A. Conner, one of Chicago’s premiere event planners for the last 22 years. She chose the former home of the Marmon automobile showroom of the 1920’s as her choice for a spacious and attractive location for her dream banquet venue. The Marmon showroom is located in the heart of the Motor Row at 2230 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago was large enough and had the potential to be a very spacious and elegant venue for any type of special event. An added attraction was the vintage look of the outside and inside of the building, the elegantly framed floor to ceiling windows across the front of the room, the intricate inlaid tile floors inside and the towering columns throughout the room. In the fall of 2006 the Marmon Grand opened their doors. Since then every event at the Marmon Grand has been a wonderful success. Our first years have been enjoyable and successful. We hope to see many more years here at the Marmon Grand like the ones we have experienced so far.

Motor Row – A Monument to Modern America
A designated Chicago landmark, the Motor Row District takes in Michigan Avenue from Cermak Road to the Stevenson Expressway. The district’s 56 buildings primarily housed showrooms for the finest automobiles of the day- as many as 116 makes of automobiles in its heyday. Its close proximity to McCormick Place and Hyatt Regency makes this a tourism destination. The buildings represent an array of designs, from two-story structures used for display and offices to multi-story buildings that housed repair, storage, painting and finishing facilities. This multi-story structure featured elegant exterior and interior ornamentation, creating “stage sets” that dramatized the power and romance of the vehicles within. Executive Bio
Janet Conner - Synthesizing a unique combination of management, fundraising and marketing skills with her distinctive style, Janet has achieved a reputation as a highly skilled and innovative entreprenuer. Prior to the Marmon Grand, Janet has been the Founder and President of Events Unlimited Inc., a consultant management firm, following a long and successful career in leadership and management. Janet has a M.S. Education and a B.S. Education from Chicago State University
Robert Conner - Has extensive corporate experience with almost thirty years spent with the Xerox Corporation. Robert was a Global Account Manager, responsible for worldwide sales, service, billing and distribution. Robert has a B.S. Math from Chicago State University.
